sur-incubation

English translation: over-incubation

Medical - Medical (general)
French term or phrase: sur-incubation
I am completing a translation on a piece of medical equipment. I cannot say too much more for confidentiality purposes, but this term deals with samples. I know what incubation means and I know that sur usually means on but I dont know what the two terms combined mean.
Any help appreciated

English translation:over-incubation
Explanation:
Over-incubation, maybe? That might be a good literal translation...but would it get across the nuance of whatever happens when you incubate a sample too much?
