Roztrząsanie (ang. dithering) to metoda uzyskiwania barw występujących w obrazie, ale niedostępnych dla środowiska operacyjnego. Polega ona na zastępowaniu ich kolorami możliwymi do uzyskania. Na przykład piksele pomarańczowe zastępujemy punktami żółtymi i czerwonymi, uzyskując złudzenie barwy pomarańczowej.

Inna nazwa: prószenie.
