German term

Großkreditüberschreitungen

German to English Bus/Financial Finance (general) financial reporting
"Großkreditüberschreitungen nach § 13 KWG"

I'm translating a report on an audit/financial statements. I'm having some trouble with the word "Großkredit" (please see my other question, too).

This term here is part of a table that gives a breakdown of the company's capital resources, which also includes "Vermögensgegenstände, Kernkapital", etc.

Can "Großkredit" simple be translated as "large credit" and is there a standard translation for "Überschreitungen" in this context?

Many thanks.

Caution advised Bank financial statements, risk reports, Pillar III disclosures, etc., are complex, difficult and time-consuming translations at the best of times. If you're under time pressure, they can be deadly and the potential liability risks can grow exponentially. Not something for the faint-hearted...

Thanks, Robin... I'm afraid banking isn't one of my strengths and I'm under a lot of time pressure with this text. Apologies if I'm asking obvious questions!

Check out the BuBa website I really do suggest you enter the terms you're looking for in the search box of the BuBa website. Once you've found some interesting German pages, switch to the English pages to find the translations. This option isn't available for all BuBa German documents, but a little bit of proper research should find most or even all of the terms you're looking for.

For example, check these pages for Großkreditüberschreitungen and Kernkapital (Tier 1 capital):

and
(http://www.bundesbank.de/bankenaufsicht/bankenaufsicht_eigen...

I take it you're not particularly familiar with the arcane language of German banking law...
