I think it sounds more like a term describing an increase in production or alternatively consumption quantity though I haven't been able to find a good example to back this up.

is what it means, I think. There might be a more specific term, though.
Note that the country-specific linear trendterms do not eliminate the effect of SSRIs on suicide because SSRI sales increase atan increasing (that is, nonlinear) rate over our entire sample period, in part becauseSSRI sales were zero for most countries during most of the 1980s.
