Finnish term
liittymärajapinta
Finnish to English

"Liittymät taustajärjestelmiin ja liittymärajapinnat"
I am tempted to think that liittymä and liittymärajapinta are almost the same thing, but surely there is a slight difference there... Interface boundary? Any suggestions?
Many thanks!

interface boundary
I do see interface boundary being used. Finnishizations of tech terms like this tend to be just this literal.

Sometimes they are the same thing, but liittymä also means connection, extension, terminal, etc.

Bsiccaly I agree with Marju, but in some contexts this might make it clearer - not sure, though

'liittymä' = physical interface or logical (programming) interface
'liittymärajapinta' = usually only refers to logical interface for programmers. They use this 'liittymärajapinta' to write a correct program so that the two devices (or similar) work together as planned.
