Ladegård = avlsgård according to Politiken's dictionary of contemporary Danish. This is the part of the estate were the actual farming takes place, separate from the manor house.
(lade = barn, avl = breeding).

Vinterberg's Danish-English translates avlsgård with home farm, and UltraLingua confirms this:
"home-farm n (British) A farm that supplies the needs of a large estate of establishment."

My father gave me this explanation of the word \'ladegård\':

\"Nu til dags bruges det ikke så meget, er lig med \'avlsgård\' og bruges ikke kun om godser. I Sverige bruges det som avlsgård. Før i tiden betød det de (bønder)gårde rundt omkring et gods som godsejeren OGSÅ ejede. Deraf følger at \'ladegårdsgods\' er hans portefølje i små gårde.\"
