Japanese term

アッタク性

Japanese to English Tech/Engineering Chemistry; Chem Sci/Eng Chemical
"炭化水素であるシクロペンタンは一般ABS樹脂でも良好な限界歪を示すものの、断熱効率の高い代替フロンや次世代フロンはABS樹脂への強いアタック性を示すことから、耐薬品対策が必須となっています。"

この文中の "アタック性" は attackability として的を得ているでしょうか?ご回答よろしくお願いします。

corrosion resistance, corrosiveness

I'm proposing another possibility, keeping "permeability" as one possible answer. In the following site of Mitsubishi Materials, "耐バナジウムアタック性" appears under "高温の耐食性". If this is about "アタック性", "corrosion resistance" or "corrosiveness" could be the answer.

In Google, there are some 30 examples of "アタック性", so this might be a non-technical use of some more technical term, or a purely Japanese terminology.

Sorry, I¥'ve forgot to give the Mitsubishi Materials site:

In the following PDF file, ¥"侵食性¥" is paraphrased to ¥"アタック性¥". So, ¥"erosion resistance¥" or ¥"erosiveness¥" might be possible.

2 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "I do appreciate your effort and time for this searching. I'm afraid I'm really running out of time for deciding the term, so refering to your explanation and my own investigation, I suppose the meaning of 侵食性 would be the more proper in the context, hence chooing to ponder over the right translation. Again, thank you for your answer."

permeability

In the first reference:

Actually, the above term is the translation of "浸透性", and this will be for both 浸透性 and アタック性.

But, anyway, "attackability" doesn't seem to be a valid word.

As for ¥"chemical attack¥" and ¥"solution attack¥":

As far as I¥'ve seen the usage of ¥"chemical attack¥", it is more about bioterrorism, and it is almost identical to ¥"bioattack¥".

I¥'ve also researched in Google, ¥"solution attack¥" might not be a preferrable string or phrase. It is used like ¥"... solution. Attack ...¥", ¥"...solution: Attack ...¥", ¥"...solution, attack ...¥", and so on. I mean, there is a break between the two words, and I¥'ve found a lot of examples like this.

This would be a good definition for ¥"permeability¥". Does this definition fit to ¥"アタック性¥"?
