Spanish term

1 ufc/dm2

Spanish to English Science Food & Drink food industry
Sobre esta misma frase haré un par de preguntas:

Control bacteriano de superficies pre-elaboración con ausencia de patógenos y menos de 30 colifomes por dm2)

La oración tiene una redacción extraña, no entiendo la ubicación "macro" digamos de : "pre-elaboración"

De hecho..."before manufacturing" les parece buena opción?

Gracias, au

You are right. Since you are talking about three different phases, then pre-preparation would be just fine.
Non-ProZ.com Jul 27, 2002:
Russell: Could I then speak of "pre-preparation surfaces" / preparation surfaces and post-preparation surfaces?

=) Au
Russell Gillis Jul 27, 2002:
OK. In that case, I would leave it as plural: "surfaces". Thanks Aurora.

SUPERFICIES Aclaro ya ms "adentro" de mi documento....

Habla de tres superficies (obviamente para la fabricacin del helado)

1) superficie de pre-elaboracin
2) de elaboracin
3) de post-elaboracin

Por si ayuda en algo... =) au

Bacterial control of the surface prior to preparation, with the absence of pathogens and less than

30 coliforms per dm2

I just have the following recommendations:

1. Leave "superficies" in the singular. Unless there are actually separate tanks with different liquids, the singular is more common in English.

2. "Preparation" is better when talking about food processing. Manufacturing is generally used when something is being built.

3. Here the term "pre-elaboración" is being used as an adjective. You will notice that I used it as an adverb in my translation, because it would sound awkward otherwise.
