But essentially "à l'effet de" means (methinks) "for the purposes of"
So it's another way of saying "power (of attorney) to sell" ...
I think ....
Slip of my fingers ... I should have typed "to the future seller" - the letter is to a property owner regarding a power of attorney - maybe I don't need to search for another phrase, but "pouvoir à l'effet de vendre" is new to me - I was looking for an alternative phrase.
