I have looked everywhere for "léchage" in this context (and pulled up some interesting sites in the process). I'm wondering if it refers to a coating? Thanks in advance!

It took me 15-20 minutes, but I got there in the end.

Il existe différentes technologies pour réaliser le marquage logistique :
• Etiquetage : une étiquette imprimée (par transfert thermique ou thermique direct) est déposée sur l'unité logistique (léchage, soufflage ou dépose).

Not sure if you need a Wipe-On unit or an Air-Blow unit? Do you need to apply labels to more than one panel? Label-Aire's line of pressure-sensitive labelers can apply labels in a variety of ways. Please select a Labeling Application Method below to view. Be sure to click on the "How Does It Work?" link for a step-by-step description. You must have Flash installed.

619 ghits for "wipe-on label applicator", not to mention other terms and combinations.

You must point me in the direction of those interesting sites you found. The most intriguing one I found was about the good ladies who whittle pipes, in Saint Claude presumably.

Does your text also mention the blowing technique of label application?

From memory my search strrings were something like:
imprimantes (unsuccessful), étiquettes, application, léchage, to establish what we were talking about,
then
labels, application, methods. However I experimented with "label(l)ing", "applicator" "fixing" and so on, so I can't guarantee which ones progressively pointed me in the right direction. "Methods" was the one that hit gold, though.

Or Google "La taille de l’étiquette respecte toujours"
Note from asker:
Thanks so much Bourth. Out of curiosity, what key words did you use to find these? And yes, they do mention air-blowing. As for the sites, type in "léchage" in Google. Lots of stuff with cats....and other variations.
