German term

Neuerungen zum gegenständlichen Vertrag

German to English Law/Patents Law: Contract(s) Contract for a bank account
"Neuerungen zum gegenständlichen Vertrag sind nur in Schriftform zulässig."

Not sure how to translate gegenständlich in this context.

Discussion

David Moore (X) Jun 2, 2007:
Save yourself some writing: "this".
As in "amendments to this Contract".

neutral writeaway : David's comment in ATA box is the way it's said in legalese English. your answer can be understood but is not correct idiomatic English legalese.

changes to the current contract

I prefer "contract" to a "greement" at this instance.
Peer comment(s):

neutral Kim Metzger : Current implies that there is or has been more than one agreement. Gegenständlich implies no such thing./Yes - present is correct here, just unnecessary. Present in legal English means "at hand".

The same goes for "present" actually!? Vorliegend is not "present"!
