Kantoor

Business admininstration

Kantoor
Office (Management)?
Doesn't that sound extremely weird: I study Office?
Office Management appears to be something of higher education, so I'm a bit confused.

Non-PRO (1): CJG (X)
When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.
How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:
An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)
A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).
Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.
When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.
* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

: office administration. the URL Asker has shown confirms that it's office administration./secretarial and office work since it is preparation for taking an office job. business administration is the wrong solution here.

Based on the description of the subject, I think business admin. seems to be appropriate. It sounds a little more "formal" than office admin?

Discussion
However, I'm still looking for an answer that will clearly set Kantoor apart from the optional and additional year of Office administration.
People from Kantoor don't necessarily become secretaries. They could, but there is another study called Secretariaat-Talen, which I think was specifically designed for the job of secretaries.
Or do clerics and secretaries really have to know about Law, Accountancy and Economics next to administrative skills?
I was also thinking of Office Management...?
So, it is a bit misleading to state in your curriculum that you've studied Office Administration (which requires an extra year) when you've "only" studied Office.
The context is: vocational schools in Belgium. They have different study fields. One of them being Kantoor.
I know,...it's not an easy one :-)
