Adicionalmente a esta, existe una carga viva, la cual se define como aquella que puede afectar la estructura ocasionalmente, un ejemplo de este tipo de carga son las personas que caminan por ella, etc. Para efectos de diseño vamos a asumir una carga mínima por unidad de área que nos da la NSR-98 en B.4.2.1 dependiendo del tipo de construcción; en este caso se supondrá una cubierta inclinada de estructura metálica y de madera con imposibilidad y pendiente menor del 20%, su valor es de 0.50 KN/m2 (50Kgf/m2).
