A big good old-fashionned dictionary tells me this: plod, vb."to walk along or through slowly or heavily , to walk laboriously with dragging, painful steps
plod, n. " heavy, laborious walk; steady, unremitting toil"
Now, a "rengaine" may be extremely light-hearted and rythmically light ...A "rengaine" may be unconsciously "caught" in unremitting exposure to a bubble-gum commercial...Ti la la et ti la la! Is that a plod?

neutral  Najib Aloui: Bonjour Assya.Le contraste n'est pas avec "plod" d'autant plus que celui-ci est "good" mais avec "tuneless" et "lifeless"; imaginez une "rengaine" dotée d'un étrange pouvoir de séduction, non, une rengaine a plutôt tendance à irriter...
