On continuous glass faced buildings, each glass pane is bolted on cable supports and each cable is anchored to the building frame, often made with steel. This is necessary as the large area of the glass pane expands with heat and needs a flexible mounting to accommodate this. If you live near Manchester, try to look at the inside of Bridgewater Hall and this system is clearly visible. |
