Die Zertifizierung der hochwertigen Papiere stützt den Verkauf mit dem für immer mehr Endverbraucher wichtigen Umweltplus. - Kann ich das in Englisch folgendermaßen ausdrücken:

environmental benefit
I would say "environmental benefit". And, while I'm at it, I would change the end of your sentence to: "which is increasingly important for end users"

positive effect upon the environment
I would be careful with "cachet" - we don't know whether there is one. (Maybe you know more?)

: we also don't know whether there is in fact any positive effect upon the environment, as that's not what this text is about

benefit for the environment
another way to say it -- 'benefit' is a golden word in marketing

: Doesn't "Umweltplus" here refer to a factor that boosts sales, by appealing to consumers' environmental awareness, rather than a claim that there is necessarily any actual benefit for the environment? I don't think it works this way round.

I don't quite read it that way, Ian. An "immer mehr Endverbraucher wichtigen Umweltplus" implies to me that it is beneficial to the environment, which is increasingly important to the consumer. Ipso facto, it boosts sales. I do prefer Ian W's formulation.
