Perhaps "Do the proper thing right" or something else would be more suitable here, but it's hard to tell without context.

Charles has been so good as to provide the context, and this convinces me that I and Lingua DK are right about the translation.
It's about doing the right thing (important) and then doing it right (equally if not more important).
