Non-ProZ.com Jun 24, 2005:
I found out by devious research that the client (this is through an agency) is indeed a bistro in the 18th called Le Chansonnier, and Chansonnier Potatoes are in fact plain old sliced and fried potatoes served with garlic!

Thanks for the help though everyone!
Bruce Berger Jun 23, 2005:
Enfin... ;-). But I don't think I'd go as far as saying "House Fries"... 8-D
Sandra C. Jun 23, 2005:
yes, that would make more sense.
Non-ProZ.com Jun 23, 2005:
I'm beginning to wonder if the name of the bistro is "Le Chansonnier"...
Edward Vreeburg Jun 23, 2005:
pommes saisonnnier???
Bruce Berger Jun 23, 2005:
From what I can find in my cookbooks and on the web, and I could be wrong, but I have the impression this is more presentation that a kind of potato, but so far, not much there either... desol
Bruce Berger Jun 23, 2005:
Song writing potatoes? Huh? Any idea if it's the presentation or the type of potato? I doubt the chef is making a reference to SACEM....

pommes chansonnier

with an explanation perhaps i.e. sliced baked potatoes with cream etc, or whatever the recipe involves. It generally sounds better in French anyway. But you'll have to check the recipe with the chef!
