PS A 'ZU' actually seems to be three sheets (A, B and C). You could ckeck http://www.poslovniforum.hr/zakoni/zakon_o_zemljisnim_knjiga... especially Article 20. So, a folio might actually be the best solution.

I'm pretty sure that 1956 is not reference to the year 1956. You could ckeck this website for some info on ZUs: www.vladars.net/lt/zakoni/zemljisne_knjige.htm Check under Articles 16 through 21. It's actually a form with a header and A, B and C sections.

Since the identifying info for the "Z.U" is a year, is it possible that this is a "slip/sheet" (i.e. can all of this info for 1956 fit on one page?) If not, then folio might be better, or simply Land Register. Comments??

folio (zu) izvorno postoji, a ko je zvanično (Društvo sudskih tumača i prev.) rješena ovako jer to nije administrativna zajednica...

zemljišni upis - katastarska općina

Z.U. is "zemljišni upis" - that is when you own or inherit a piece of land, you need to have that registered at the "katastar" office, where all owners are registered.
K.O. is "katastarska općina" - that is the municipality
