German term
unauffällige Abschlussuntersuchung
German to English
Medical
Medical (general)
examination before release from hospital after surgery
Context:
"Der postoperative Verlauf gestaltete sich komplikationslos.
XXX konnte nach unauffälliger Abschlussuntersuchung entlassen
werden."
Does this sound ok?: XXX was able to be released after an exit medical examination with normal results.
Or is there another more standard or better phrasing?

German term (edited):
unauffälliger Abschlussuntersuchung
Selected
normal final medical check-up ( please see below)
"The final medical check-up ( or exam) yielded normal results and the patient was [consequently] discharged."
The standard word is "discharged", not released.
I would not say "was able to be..."; it sounds somewhat forced :)
Hope this helps :)

Comment: "Thank you, although all the answers were good, I used something similar to yours. "Unremarkable" could also be used for unauffällig in certain instances."

Lirka
: "findings" would not work if a regular physical exam was meant ( which seems to be the case); in case of another exam ( eg MRI, CT, etc), findings would work fine

Note from asker:
Well that one is discharge from the military, rather than from the hospital, but yes "final medical examination" still seems to fit for Abschlussuntersuchung. |
