French term

Etq av OP Dpi

French to English Bus/Financial Retail clothing website
Hello,
This comes from a list of technical terms to translate for a clothing website. I have asked the client and apparently it stands for Etiquettage avant Opération Commerciale Déblocage Prix Indentique. So, Labelling before Business Transaction...not sure about the rest, in particular am having problems finding a translation for indentique..indentic? Many thanks for any help!

Thanks for all contributions, still working on it!

2 for the price of 1? Some special offers don't talk about spending less money, rather than of getting more for the same price: extra quantity, special resentation pack, voucher, free gift, ... Maybe that's what's meant here but I don't know that there's any abbreviation possible. Ref: http://www.marketing-strategique.com/Promotion-Girafe.htm

I am no expert in this field but it sounds like it refers to the MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) which is sometimes fixed by manufacturers/suppliers and causes all sorts of problems for people wanting to sell goods cheaper on line than in stores - If this is the case then "déblocage Prix Identique" would be something like deregulation of MAP - I may of course be barking up completely the wrong tree, but it is something you could look at in the context of your translation :)

Agree with Sheila... ..about sales promotion. And surely "indentique" is a typo for "identique"? As for "déblocage", I imagine the meaning is that given in the Free Dictionary:
"Lever les obstacles qui empêchent l'évolution d'une situation: Débloquer une négociation. Débloquer les salaires, les prix, permettre leur variation"
http://fr.thefreedictionary.com/débloqués

That would be "unfreeze" or "deregulate" in a broader context, but not sure here...Is it saying the sales promotion would free up the identical prices so items can be priced differently? So maybe "varying" the prices? Not at all sure, just brainstorming...

OP = SP I think you'll find that "sales promotion" is the term you need here

Opération Commerciale I'm far from convinced by your 'Business Transaction', which may be blocking your ideas a bit here.

I think you'll find this is the other meaning of 'commercial', i.e. a Sales Operation — perhaps this is some kind of promotional campaign or sales drive?

identique or indentique????
