English term

manifold pipe

Non-PRO English to Spanish Tech/Engineering Engineering (general)
Hola:

¿Un "manifold pipe" es una "válvula múltiple"?

La wikipedia la define así: "A manifold, in systems for moving fluids or gases is a junction of pipes or channels, typically bringing one into many or many into one."

Este es el contexto donde aparece:
"Vessel 100 also may be utilized with weld pad or tube skin applications. In an exemplary application, one or more high pressure chemical reaction vessels 100 are coupled to a manifold pipe 102 by a connector pipe 104. Connector pipe 104 is disposed in fluid communication with the interior of vessel 100 generally at an upper portion 105 of vessel 100. Similarly, a second manifold pipe 106 is coupled to the one or more vessels 100 by an appropriate lower connector pipe 108."

colector

Es la palabra normal en un motor [colector de escape o de admisión], se utiliza también en paneles solares, ambos casos en que diversos tubos son conectados a un tubo único

If the Wikipedia definition is acceable, then colector corresponds exactly to it and conveys this meaning. As to connector tube, I would venture that Spain Spanish would favor a denomination as tubo de conexión or perhaps tubo de acoplamiento.
As far as I know, pipe circuit terminology does not relate to the field of use and in the text you mention, there is no inkling as to what it is. In any industrial installation, there are hightly specific pipes, and they will certainly have a specific name, but then in any language.

coupled to a manifold pipe 102 by a connector pipe 104.

conectado al colector 102 con un tubo de conexión 104

There might be something wrong, but I do not see what

of course if 102 is a type of colector among others, then conectado a un colector
Note from asker:
¿y los reactores de alta presión también pueden conectarse a los colectores? ¿ese tubo del que hablas y que también aparece en el texto como "connector tube" podría ser un "tubo conector"?
¿o "tubo de conexión"?
thanks, I think "tubo de conexión" sounds better too. It might no be the same field of use, but it also refers to a junction of pipes so don't you think "colector" could work in my text?
Not so sure about "colector" now when referring to this: http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/342255121/Manifold_Pipe_ZL_1105.html. Here they say just "tubo": http://www.auxilab.es/documentos/manuales/equipos/rampas/59050xxx.pdf Here "tubo del múltiple" but it sounds like a literal translation: http://www.thermador.com/public/documents/SGS_SGSX_Installation%20Manual.pdf And here "tubo múltiple", which is the option I think I'm gonna go for: http://www.inyopools.com/owners_manual/polaris_minijets.pdf

tubo múltiple / distribuidor

As per http://www.clubp.info/pdf/TL/TL-1103.pdf, this should be "tubo múltiple" but "Distribuidor" according to the following:
