context: Survey, evaluation responses "Using a qualitative approach, respondents’ immediate reaction to the speech was measured by means of a ‘dial-meter’, followed by a group discussion. Using the dial-meters, respondents recorded their response"
Hi, could anybody help me translate this word?
I was thinking of a kind of "enregistreur". Any other ideas?
The contexte of the sentence is: Speech shown in its entirety and immediate reactions recorded via dial-meter
Many thanks in advance for your help,
Rachida

It depends what this dial (cadran) has to visualise...
As it seems sound here (speech is sound), it could be
(as I do not have more details) that it is visualised
on a display (affichage) and that the amplitude
of the reactions also shows, reason why I spoke
of Vu-mètre...
Just an idea...

: In the light of the extra context, I'd say definitely not vu-mètre, and almost certainly not 'affichage' either; some kind of 'cadran' does, however, seem possible. Pending more context!

Comment: "Thank you very much for your help. I finally chose the answer "cadran d'affichage" or "boitier d'affichage" since it's a physical device to register rates from 0 to 10. I hope it will be clear enough. "
