In Britain, the nearest equivalent is a Counsellor. See:

But there are many schools of counselling/psychotherapy, such as Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP, whose graduates call themselves NLP Practitioners) or Gestalt Therapy and Psychosynthesis (whose practitioners call themselves therapists). I see NLP is mentioned in the question.
