"Photographic isohelia, also called posterization (from the word “poster”)143 was invented by
Witold Romer in 1936 in Lviv, Ukraine, while Lviv was part of Poland.144 It is a complicated
technical process during which the image loses half tones and appears like a pixelated low quality
image with rough gradation borders (with several regions of fewer tones)."
