German term

normoton

German to English Medical Medical (general)
Sentence to be translated:
Die paravertebrale Muskulatur ist symmetrisch und normoton.

English:

Is this correct?

Cheers! :)
Proposed translations (English)

3 normotensive

Discussion

uyuni Apr 24, 2021:
BTW I'd merely say 'paravertebral muscles' rather than 'musculature'...
uyuni Apr 24, 2021:
In a clinical context I'd just say 'soft' or 'without tenderness'. Phil's answer is formally correct though...

normotonic

I think Mair's last reference is wrong. Normotensive (normotensiv in German) means having high blood pressure.

Medical Definition of normotonic
: relating to or characterized by normal tone or tension
a normotonic muscle

agree Reena Cohn (X) : support normotonic, see also: http://physiocorrect.blogspot.com/2013/11/hypertonic-vs-norm... – however, normotensive BP is normal BP ;-)

Sorry, slip of the brain. I deleted my first answer for that reason, and then replaced it with exactly the same mistake!
agree Ioana-Leda Costea-Nicolae : Yes, it means normal muscle tone, Romanian uses the exact same word as German, ”normoton”
