French term

droit du congé de raccordement du palier.

French to English Tech/Engineering Mechanics / Mech Engineering Examination of broken parts
Context:
Le rouleau gaufreur s‘est rompu au droit du congé de raccordement du palier.

Report on a ruptured roller axle.
Have I got this right, my offer being:
The embossing roller axle failed in line with the fillet radius of the bearing.

TIA Chris.

@ CC Right next to is perhaps the phrase I`ve been looking for. Thank you.
chris collister Oct 27, 2019:
I take "au droit de" to mean right next to, and the "congé de raccordement" to mean the machined radius where a small diameter shaft meets a larger diameter shaft. Stress always peaks around this circumference, which is why such junctions are always (or certainly should be) radiused.
Daryo Oct 27, 2019:
the term is used quite often in architecture / construction and is the whole of

"au droit de"

NOT "droit de" that would suggest some sort of (legal) right on something.
Tony M Oct 27, 2019:
@ Asker Not really sure about 'fillet radius' for 'congé de raccordement' here? I don't really see how anything can be 'in line' with a 'radius'?
Also wonder about 'in line with'? Without knowing the configuration of these parts, it's a little hard to imagine, but i wonder if it mightn't perhaps be better expressed as 'level with'?
