Als je naar "nederlandse ruiterunie commandant" zoekt kom je slechts twee resultaten tegen. Ik denk dat de combinatie dus ongewoon is.

De enige succesvolle antwoorden kun je vinden als je zoekt onder "ORUN paard commandant"
De term is kennelijk verouderd.

Als het gaat om het overbrengen van het feit dat deze persoon gekwalificeerd is in therapeutische instructie kun je hier zoeken:

"equestrian commander instruction therapeutic"

En dan vind je een mix van instructor, en commandor ook vnl voor oudere of militaire "structuren."

Ik dat commander de betekenis over kan brengen. Maar als je alle militaire/commanderende associaties wilt vermijden (die toch heus in de wereld van paarden niet ongewoon is) kun je een omschrijving/suggestie maken van wat die opleiding inhield en "instructor" gebruiken.
