Sometimes original words should be leaved or simply transliterated in Japanese characters in specialized domains. But it is difficult to explain this. I must choose between an exact term which is not common and a common word which is not exact.

Four days ago a potential client (Ave of Swesteng) contacted me to translate “600 words and lots of mathes/repetitions” of a manual. She approximately told to me what she knows about fuzzy matches with some confusions. Yesterday evening on my request, she finally sent me Trados project. And this moning I spent one hours to see the qualiy of the previous translation and give my quotatoon. She answeed: we chose another translator. Some use ill CAT tools only to have discounts. No quality assurance process.

I continue to translate medical trial related documents. I am happy, I share multidisciplinary and multicultural vision of authors. I remember the words of the two important professors of French Literature of Kyoto University- Prof.Yoshida said we would go toward multidisciplinary world and Prof Nakagawa said in his first lesson to new entries: be specialist and in the same time be generalist. These words were pronounced 40 years ago, but still true today!
