HOW TO INSTALL WORDFAST AND PLUSTOOLS (ON WORD 2007/VISTA SETUP)

1) Did you download wordfast.dot and unzip it?

2) Note the location where the unzipped wordfast.dot is saved on your computer

3) Read the installation instructions in case I'm forgetting any important steps ;-)

4) You need to "display hidden files" first, see below screenshot (access this menu when you are in the "my computer" file tree by clicking on "tools" then "options" or something like that in English

5) Now that you have unhidden the files, you can navigate to the word startup file, which is where you should put wordfast.dot and plustools.dot if you want them to stay checked all the time. The path to the right folder is:

Windows Vista or 7

C:\Users\[YOUR USER NAME]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Word\STARTUP

Windows XP/2000

C:\Documents and Settings\[YOUR USER NAME]\Application Data\Microsoft\Word\Startup

(you can also see the path in above screenshot). Copy wordfast.dot from wherever you put it and paste it here in the startup folder. You can also put plustools.dot here if you want (that way it can stay checked all the time)

6) Now go to the add-ins menu, click "add" and navigate to the word startup folder and selected wordfast.dot, it should now appear in the list and you can check it.

7) If you also add/check plustools.dot, you will need to press ALT+F2 (on a blank word doc for example) to launch plustools.

I can't figure out how to insert my screenshots here? Looked at the help section, seems I need to upload them somewhere to be able to use the "embedded image" feature?
