Raised in a bilingual English-German household (in Canada and in Germany), I initially embarked on a career as an English teacher in Canada, Japan, Vietnam and Hong Kong. Leaving the classroom behind after ten years, I began to write journalistic as well as fiction pieces, several of which were published. After completing translation studies (main focus French to English, with German to English option) at the certificate, graduate diploma and master levels, I began to translate full-time 13 years ago. Although I am a generalist translator with a focus on the arts and humanities, the majority of my translation work falls into the following fields: history, education, literature, community development, human resources, social sciences, and law. |
