Hi everybody! My name is Carmen and I am a Spanish/Galician native speaker. I have studied a degree in Translation and Interpreting of English/German into Spanish which I did at the Universidad de Valladolid (Spain).

I am specialized in the media and social science fields. I can also translate from Portuguese and Galician :D While I was studying, I had the chance to travel to other European countries such as Austria, as I got an Erasmus grant for a year and spent another 6 extra months. Last year, I finished a Masters degree in Tradumatics and Software localization at the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona and worked as a vendor manager for 6 months.

By the way, I am doing a course to become a Secondary School teacher in La Coruña University, my hometown, and thinking about specialising in Medical and Pharmaceutical translation. I will also do a course in Galician proofreading which will show me how to correct texts into Galician with accuracy, as the knowledge of this language is quite ambiguous. However, another favourite of mine is sports which I have been related for more than 12 years.
If I had the choice of defining myself, I would say that I consider myself a personwith a positive attitude as well as a perfectionist and a hard worker as I take my job seriously.

I have some expertise at a small range of things but I think that I will improve as soon as I get more experience as a translator.

*February-July 2007: internship as “vendor manager” at the Nova Traductors Translations and Interpretation’s Agency in Barcelona.
*August 2006: interpreter/crewmember in the Tall Ship Races vessels race from Cádiz to La Coruña (former Cutty Sark). Sailor and interpreter at the Spanish harbors on the STS Lord Nelson British vessel
*August 2005: social interpreter at the Club Náutico Restaurant in Ortigueira, A Coruña.

I will be pleased to hear from you all to share opinions, thoughts and so on :D do not hesitate to get in touch with me at any time.
