Our vision is for a world in which individuals, communities, governments, businesses, and civil society have a clear and nuanced understanding of their country’s human rights performance, and use that understanding to bring about legal and policy changes that improve people’s lives.
In this world, all governments seek advice not just on how to grow their economies and increase their GDPs, but also on how to improve people’s lives by better respecting, protecting, and fulfilling their human rights obligations.
HRMI’s contribution to this vision is through our mission:
Our mission is to produce world-changing human rights data tools that track the human rights performance of countries.

Drew Dalton is the Founder and Chair of ReportOUT, a global SOGI human rights organisation based in the United Kingdom but with trustees from all over the globe.
With a background in a range of roles themed around campaigning, human rights and the Third Sector, he brings a passion and zeal for social justice and social change for SOGI people.
Drew is currently a Senior Lecturer in Sociology and was the former Chair of Hidayah, a U.K. LGBTQI+ organisation for LGBTQI+ Muslims.
His research is focused on the lived experiences of SOGI people in nation states as well as global homo/bi/transphobia, global health and HIV and queer Muslims.

And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
Translation - Portuguese Dois caminhos á escolher para uma floresta amarela naquele amanhecer,
Lamentando-se por não poder os dois caminhos escolher.
Por ser somente um viajante, ali permaneci,
Observando abaixo de mim, o mais longe que consegui.
Onde o mato rasteiro ali se curvava,
Então, escolhi o outro caminho, que tão belo estava.
Podendo-se dizer, que mais belo era,
Pois aquele gramado, a ser explorado estava a espera.
E mesmo ao passar e ver,
vi que ambos caminhos, explorados gostariam de ser,
