Kids' News Service Connects 20 Different Newsrooms Across Bihar To Rest of Country
Muzaffarpur/Bhagalpur: It is the first children's news service in India and the Children's Scrappy News Service launched in style on November 14th. Choosing the symbolic Children's Day to launch the service on social video platform YouTube, Delhi- based NGO ‘Going To School’ under the platform of ‘Scrappy Kids’ set up twenty different newsrooms in the state including newsrooms in the Bhagalpur district and Muzaffarpur district in the Tirhut region of Bihar.
These Scrappy newsrooms, built completely out of scrap cater to the Children’s Scrappy News Service, a makeshift news service and news-talk-game show run by kids for kids, taking on India’s biggest problems and solving them with design-thinking and scrappy skills. Among the twenty newsrooms, a list of innovative and interesting activities were planned for the newsrooms in Bhagalpur and Muzaffarpur districts.
‘Scrappy Heroes’ focussed on interviewing local hero entrepreneurs like beekeepers, woman e-rickshaw drivers, girl boxing champion, traffic policewomen, organic farmers, toilet ring makers, people recycling newspapers and grandparents among others.
Then there were ‘Scrappy Debates’ where Scrappy Kid anchors invited local guests into the newsroom to discuss the pertinent issues and find collective solutions to the problems.
‘Scrappy Pakao’ - a cook off between street food carts, was a show assisted as well as judged by the Scrappy kids.
Then the kids had – ‘Scrappy Races’ where kids raced with racing cars made out of junk.
Lisa Heydlauff, Founder, Going to School says, "Scrappy means to create something out of nothing to change the way things are. And the good news is that Scrappy News is all good news. It’s about what you can do to make the world a better place. It's a revolution that says we have no time left, let children lead.”

The Children's Scrappy News Service launched simultaneously in Mumbai and Bangalore.

मुजफ्फरपुर / भागलपुर: यह भारत में बच्चों की पहली समाचार सेवा है और 14 नवंबर को इस स्क्रैपी न्यूज सर्विस की अनूठी शुरुआत हो गई. दिल्ली स्थित एनजीओ 'गोइंग टू स्कूल' ने 'स्क्रैपी किड्स' मंच के तहत इस सर्विस को सोशल वीडियो प्लेटफोर्म यूट्यूब पर लॉन्च करने के लिए सांकेतिक तौर पर बाल दिवस का चयन किया. इस सर्विस के लिए राज्य के भागलपुर जिले और तिरहुत क्षेत्र के मुजफ्फरपुर जिले सहित बिहार में बीस अलग-अलग न्यूज़ रूम स्थापित किये गए हैं.
चिल्ड्रेन्स स्क्रैपी न्यूज़ सर्विस के लिए ये सारे न्यूज रूम्स पूरी तरह से बेकार की चीजों से बनाए गए हैं. इस अस्थायी स्क्रैपी न्यूज सर्विस और न्यूज-टॉक-गेम शो को बच्चों के लिए और बच्चों के द्वारा तैयार किया गया है. ये सर्विस भारत की सबसे बड़ी समस्याओं को डिजाइन थिंकिंग और जुगाडू कौशल से हल करने का रास्ता सुझाएगा. इसके मद्देनजर भागलपुर और मुजफ्फरपुर के न्यूज़रूम के लिए अभिनव और दिलचस्प गतिविधियों की एक लिस्ट तैयार की गई है.
'स्क्रैपी हीरोज' ने स्थानीय उद्यमियों जैसे मधुमक्खी पालकों , महिला ई-रिक्शा चालकों, महिला मुक्केबाजी चैंपियनों, यातायात महिला पुलिस, जैविक किसानों, टॉयलेट रिंग मेकर्स, अखबारों का पुनर्चक्रण करने वालों के साथ ही ग्रांड पैरेंट्स (दादा-दादी) के इन्टरव्यू पर ध्यान केंद्रित किया.
इसके अलावा 'स्क्रैपी डिबेट्स' में स्क्रैपी किड एंकर्स ने स्थानीय मेहमानों को न्यूज़ रूम में सही मुद्दों पर चर्चा करने और समस्याओं के सामूहिक समाधान ढूंढने के लिए आमंत्रित किया.
'स्क्रैपी पकाओ' - स्ट्रीट फूड कार्ट के बीच एक पकवान बनाने की एक प्रतियोगिता हुई जिसमें बच्चों ने सहयोग किया और वे ही जज भी रहे.
इसके बाद बच्चों की 'स्क्रैपी रेस' भी हुई जिसमे उन्होंने कबाड़ से बनाई गई रेसिंग कारें दौड़ाईं .
गोइंग टू स्कूल के संस्थापक लिसा हेडलॉफ कहती हैं, “ स्क्रैपी का मतलब बेकार की चीजों से नई चीजें बनाना है. और अच्छी खबर ये है कि स्क्रैपी न्यूज में सभी अच्छी खबरें ही हैं. आप दुनिया को बेहतर जगह बनाने के लिए क्या कर सकते हैं ये उस बारे में है. यह एक क्रांति है जो कहती है कि अब हमारे पास समय नहीं बचा है. बच्चों को लीड करने दीजिए.”
'गोइंग टू स्कूल' की निदेशक पद्मिनी वैद्यनाथन कहती हैं, “ चिल्ड्रेन्स स्क्रैपी न्यूज़ सर्विस को ये दिखाने के लिए बनाया गया था कि बच्चे कैसे सोचते हैं और दुनिया को और बेहतर बनाने में वे किस तरह मदद कर सकते हैं. यह पूरी तरह से बच्चों के लिए है. ”
चिल्ड्रेन्स स्क्रैपी न्यूज़ सर्विस को बिहार के साथ ही मुम्बई और बेंगलुरु में भी लॉन्च किया गया.
English to Hindi: Actor Director Shekhar Suman's Poll Talk
Source text - English Shekhar Suman is known for his versatility as an actor, director and of course perhaps India's most successful talk show host. Soon after he announced his next directorial venture 'Patharbaaz' Shekhar Suman will be seen talking elections. Suman will be on ABP news anchoring one of their most popular election shows 'Poll Khol'.
Speaking on his comeback to political hot talk, Suman said, "I enjoy politics and I think Indians are highly involved in the political process. Movers and Shakers had caused many ripples back then when we got politicians to open up. I believe adding some humour and satire to political debate shows just makes them that much sharper. Looking forward to Poll Khol."
Poll Khol is an iconic show that started in 2004 on Star News, now known as ABP News, during the general elections. It was the first of its kind of political expose in a satirical genre and Shekhar Suman, who had acquired a cult status with his path breaking and immensely popular show Movers and Shakers, became the unanimous choice to spearhead it. It’s strong and hard hitting content had made it an instant success and what was originally meant to be a 45-day stint became the longest running entertainment show on a news channel. The show ran for 5 years without a break.
Many have credited Poll Khol for having impacted the voter’s choice and said to have overturned quite a few political equations. Political watchers claim that there was a time when politicians were scared of being exposed on Poll Khol. Allowing Shekhar, known for his craft, his forthrightness and fearlessness, to further consolidated his position as the biggest and the most loved personality on Indian television.

पोल खोल एक प्रतिष्ठित शो है, जिसकी शुरुआत 2004 के आम चुनावों के दौरान में स्टार न्यूज (अब एबीपी न्यूज) पर हुई थी. यह व्यंगात्मक शैली में अपनी तरह का पहला एक राजनीतिक खुलासे जैसा था. बेहद लोकप्रिय शो ‘मूवर्स एंड शेकर्स’ से कल्ट बन चुके शेखर सुमन ने उस वक्त इसकी एंकरिंग की थी. शो के दमदार और मारक कंटेंट ने इसे बहुत जल्दी ही सफलता दिला दी. और 45 दिन के लिए बनाया गया यह शो समाचार चैनल पर सबसे लंबे समय तक चलने वाला मनोरंजन शो बन गया. ये शो 5 साल तक बिना किसी ब्रेक के चलता रहा.

This is Anand Singh. I am a resident Indian and Hindi is my Native Language. I am a freelance translator and proof reader (English to Hindi & English to Bhojpuri), having expertise in films, music, entertainment, technical, software & website localization, medical, healthcare and computer fields.
