Bio

I'm a translator based in Ottawa (ON, Canada). I have a Master's degree in Translation Studies at the University of Ottawa and a BA in Cinema and Audiovisual Production (UNISUL).

I have always been passionate about languages, culture, and art. Since an early age, I write stories and essays, and the prospect of combining words and crafting messages has always been on my mind.

I started taking jobs as a freelance proofreader in 2012 and worked as a writer in an advertising agency back in 2014. I was still pursuing my Bachelor's degree at those years and had the chance to work (mainly as a set decorator and art director) in many low-budget, academic movies.

Then I decided to dedicate myself to those aspects of the written word I hadn't explored yet.

In 2018, I took my first steps in the world of literary translation (oh, how excited — and totally frightened — I was!). I started as a freelance translator, working in the language pairs ENG>PT-Br and FR>PT-Br, and soon got the hang of it. I am very proud to say that, since then, I've managed to translate more than five books, which were published in Brazil by various publishing houses.
