My name is Sara Cortese and I am a
freelance translator for the language pairs EN>IT and DE>IT. As a translator I focus on those fields and text types I am familiar with due to previous jobs or studies, namely legal and corporate documents, EU legislation and tourism materials. To a lesser extent I also work on marketing texts for companies. Since June 2018 company law documents (mostly contracts, privacy policies, general terms and conditions, staff regulations etc.) account for most of my workload. 

I hold a Master's Degree in Specialised
Translation and have completed a specialisation course in Legal Translation, while in 2016-2017 I worked as a translation trainee at the European Commission for five months,
translating EU texts such as parliamentary questions, reports and staff working documents from English to Italian. Back home, I have continued translating such documents
on a freelance basis through the EC's contractors, now for almost two years intermittently. Moreover, having worked for almost two years as a customer service assistant, content reviser and translator for a multilingual marketing website (German, Italian and English) for accommodation facilities, I am quite familiar with tourism translations.
