About me

Hello! I am Andrés Núñez.

I am an English and French to Latin American Spanish translator who specializes in audiovisual translation (subtitling) and video game localization. I got a B.A. degree in Translation at the Central University of Venezuela. I have been working as a freelance translator for over 4 years.

I developed an interest in languages and translation since I was a child. I have always loved video games and foreign TV-shows, but I always wondered why the majority of them were never translated into my mother tongue, Spanish.

I dreamed of one day being able to understand everything that was being said in other languages, albeit it seemed impossible. Yet, I never gave up. My first goals were to learn English and then French; and once I achieved it, I wanted to go beyond that point and help others understand what I could now fortunately experience.

As I grew up, I also became interested in other languages and cultures. Thus, studying Translation was the right choice for me due to the fact that I could now specialize in the fields I was passionate about.

I began my professional practices working in the audiovisual industry as a subtitler, which was a delightful experience as I got to work in really exciting projects. And eventually, as an avid gamer myself, the next obvious step was specializing in the video game localization field after finishing my studies. I have been working on both areas ever since and I love it!

Feel free to contact me at any time, should you have any questions. We can end up being good friends and collaborating together!
