Source text - Albanian Objektivi: Qellimi i ketij studimi ishte analyza e efektit te kujdesit të vazhdueshëm nga mjekët e pergjithshem të kombinuar me edukimin e pacienteve me hipertension kronik.
Metoda: 810 pacientë me hypertension kronik u trajtuan në klinikën tone. Të gjithë pacientët u pajisen me materiale edukimi per hipertensionin kronik.
Resultatet: Më shumë se gjysma e pacientëve të studimit ishin femra (n = 435 vs. n = 375; p = 0.001). Mosha mesatare e të gjithë pacientëve ishte 68 ± 10 vjec. Edukimi i pacienteve resultoi ne përmirësim të vazhdueshëm të presionit sistolik dhe diastolik. Përmirësimi u bë statistikisht i rëndësishem 1 muaj pas matjes bazë për presionin sistolik dhe 3 muaj pas matjes base per presionin diastolik. Rënia e tensionit të gjakut ishte e pavarur nga mosha dhe gjinia e pacienteve.
Konkluzioni: Zbatimi i partneritetit mjek-pacient për menaxhimin e hipertensionit ka potencial për të përmirësuar hipertensionin kronik dhe për të ulur sëmundshmërisë dhe vdekshmërisë e lidhur me ndërlikimet e hipertensionit.
Translation - English Objective: The aim of this study was to analyze the effect of continuous care by general practitioners combined with education of patients on chronic hypertension.
Methods: 810 patients with chronic hypertension were treated at our clinic. All patients were provided with educational materials on chronic hypertension.
Results: More than half of the study patients were females (n=435 vs. n=375; p=0.001). The mean age of all patients was 68 ± 10 years. Patient education resulted in a continuous improvement of systolic and diastolic pressure. The improvement was statistically significant 1 month after baseline measurements for systolic pressure and 3 months for diastolic pressure. The decline in blood pressure was independent of patient age and gender.
Conclusion: Implementation of physician-patient partnership for the management of hypertension has the potential to improve chronic hypertension and decrease the morbidity and mortality associated with the complications of hypertension.
