Since I completed my M.A. in Translation in 2014 I have been working as a technical translator for the language pairs English-Italian and German-Italian.
The projects I work on cover a wide variety of subjects, such as:
- employment and lease contracts
- instruction manuals for the automotive industry
- user's manuals for software
- insurance policies
- business letters
- tourism texts (e.g. hotel brochures, promotional texts) and websites
- marketing texts
- test reports for chemical and mechanical testing
- finance and trading websites
I am used to working with a variety of different file formats, including .docx, .xlsx, .pptx, .pdf, .html, .xml.
I proofread all my translations, cross-referencing terminology sources using an extensive library of dictionaries and technical sources.
I am an Italian native speaker and thanks to my university studies and my experiences abroad I can speak English and German fluently. In September 2015 I took the IELTS Academic test with an overall result of 8.0/9.0.
I am also able to understand and speak Spanish thanks to my university studies; I have recently started to learn again because I would love to improve my Spanish.
