Bio

I am in the translation industry since 2005, when I completed a Master's Degree in Translation and Interpreting (level 7 of EQF) after four years of studies and one academic year at the University Humboldt in Berlin (2003/2004). Through my university in Madrid, I obtained a grant to practice as translator in the German ERP company Abas Business Solutions Ibérica based in Madrid. At the beginning of 2006 I made an internship as Project Manager in the Spanish translation company Linguaserve Internacionalización de Servicios. This experience was very useful to learn how a translation company works and to start working as a Freelance Translator in 2007.

My first assignments were pharmaceutical patents, which allowed me to develop my research and terminology management skills. Other translation projects came rapidly: the ERP industry again (this time SAP), a long-term automotive project with the software Transit and gradually all kinds of texts for small and medium-sized businesses. Back in 2006, I had been appointed English Sworn Translator by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, so I started translating official documents and certificates as well, mainly in the legal and medical fields.

Until 2014 I worked half-time as a translator. During this time, I worked for the following translation companies Tetrapod Translations, TEK Translations International, Traductanet, Tolingo GmbH, Wieners+Wieners and Hermes Traducciones y Servicios Lingüísticos. Since 2014 I work on a full-time basis as Technical and Sworn Translator from English and German into Spanish.
