ABOUT MEMy name is Anna Blaskiewicz, Master in Dutch Language and Culture specialized in translations from Dutch and English into Polish and vice versa. I am registered freelance translator at the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (trade register, no. 58599959). I also have a broad experience in teaching English to Polish children and teenagers.EXPERIENCE:
I have been doing written translations from Dutch and English to Polish (and vice versa) since 2011. My main areas of translations are marketing and HR (eg. translations of websites, presentations, advertisements, popular and scientific texts, business correspondence, film subtitles etc.).
I have participated in a number of translation-related projects, however the most challanging one was for the Polish Ministry of Justice Office. I was translating documents concerning Dutch and Flemish criminal law under a supervision of a sworn translator.
I have also had the opportunity to translate other legal texts and documents: contracts of employment, court judgement or notarial act and also those regarding economics matters: annual income statement (jaaropgave) and annual financial report.
I estimate my experience to be around 2000 pages of translated documents, mostly in the areas of criminal law and accounting.
Even though my experience is mostly based on formal documents I am keen on literary translations as well. This is why I took part in 3-days literary translation workshops led by professional translators of Dutch literature. Moreover, one of my literature translations ("Slaap!" by Anelies Verbeke) was awarded at the International Short Story Festival in Wroclaw, Poland.
At work of a translator I truly care about efficiency and high quality. Therefore I always work with CAT tools such as memoQ which helps me to deliver high standard translations. Therefore I have been seen by my customers as a professional with a keen eye for detail. Also, I always pay attention to a correct use of a Polish language. Therefore I took part in a training “Correct use of the Polish language at work of a translator” organized by El Mundo Translation Office.
