My name is Channa Malkin. I am a professional freelance translator from Dutch to English and English to Dutch. Although I lived in The Netherlands most of my life, I was raised bilingually
with English being my first language. Throughout my life I have spent considerable amounts of time in the US and UK, among other reasons for an expository writing course at Stanford
University in California and for other college courses in London. I am able to write in English US as well as English UK, depending on the client's preference. At the moment I am looking for new clients with
whom I can build a productive working relationship.
Since 2008 I have been working as a freelance translator in many different fields, including marketing, social sciences, finance, engineering, tech/science, advertising and PR, tourism, and recreation. My assignments have included formal and informal letters, websites, brochures, contracts, press releases, manuals, presentations, and advertisements. I mainly work with SDL Trados 2011, but I also have experience with MemoQ, OmegaT and Google Translation Toolkit. In addition, I have completed numerous projects in Microsoft Powerpoint and Microsoft Word.
It gives me great satisfaction to find the right tone and style for each kind of text, and I enjoy learning more about the many different fields and topics that I come across in my assignments.
