English to Spanish: What is ore? General field: Tech/Engineering Detailed field: Mining & Minerals / Gems
Source text - English In its simplest and earliest form, prospecting only involved a close and detailed study of natural surface features and discrepancies. Finding outcrops of mineral bearing rocks, tracing boulders in glacial drift areas, panning for gold in streams - these were a few of the early techniques. Success often depended on chance. However, these ocular techniques could seldom discover the deeper, totally covered deposits. To locate these it was necessary to drill down from the surface or from an existing underground gallery or tunnel in order to obtain a sample for analysis.
