The overall objectives of the Primary Health Centre are: i. To provide healthcare that is quality oriented and sensitive to the needs of the community ii. The muffled cries of pain from the injured children, the young woman in labor, the elders with fever, all need urgent care. Syringes, medicines and the smell of blood and antiseptic are associated with the PHC. Patients form their perceptions based on their individual experiences with the PHC. If patients have any negative experiences, they will usually warn others in their community which can result in an overall negative perception. And as healthcare providers it is important for us to understand that negative perceptions are costly to the repute of the PHC.
