La Gitanilla es una novela en la que se enaltece el matrimonio, ensalzándose el amor conyugal, con una fuerte influencia eramista. En ella se trasmite el amor que puede atravesar diferencias sociales. Preciosa, personaje híbrido, por un lado de origen noble, pero criada por gitanos, nos muestra a una joven que fue absorbiendo desde niña toda esa cultura popular de las gitanerías. Es bella y discreta, pero basta que la contradigan para que deje traslucir lo que su interior oculta: una joven con vocabulario popular, con tintes eróticos, que finge conocer el “arte” de la quiromancia y de la curación utilizando “palabras mágicas” que, ella, inventa en el momento, y que de mágicas no tienen nada, siendo sólo un embuste para recibir dinero.

La Gitanilla* is a nouvelle o novela in which the wedlock is elevated by exolting marital love, with a strong erasmian influence. In it, it is expressed the love that overcomes social differences.
Gorgeous, hybrid character, from a noble origin but brought up by gypsies, shows us a young woman who has been assimilating all that folklore of gitanerías, since she was a child. She is beautiful and discreet, but it only takes someone who contradicts her to reveal what it's hidden in herself: a young woman with a lower class vocabulary, erotic hints, who simulates to know about the 'art' of palmistry and healing by using 'magic words', that have nothing to do with magic and are only a deception in order to obtain money.
