• Translation from English into Albanian and vice versa. When performing this service, I always strive and successfully manage to "[...]transform everything so that nothing changes" (Günter Grass). My translations read as if originally written by an expert of the field;

The Laws of Human Nature by Robert Greene (ISBN: 0525428143), which I have translated into Albanian as Ligjet e natyrës njerëzore (ISBN: 9789951817677), is a comprehensive and succinct 600-page manual on human nature loaded with terms from psychology, history, political science, social sciences, and philosophy.

In translating this book, I relied on my academic background in political/social sciences, the tens of hours I have spent studying the author's content on YouTube, monolingual and bilingual dictionaries, author's books previously translated into Albanian (for stylistic consistency purposes), The Laws' French and Romanian versions (to better capture the nuances of certain English sentences' meaning), and occasional input from colleagues and psychologists. Mastery of both English and Albanian alone was not enough to get the job done properly. Needless to say, this was a work of love for my fellow human beings.

2. The E-Myth Revisited by Michael E. Gerber: Albanian edition

The E-Myth Revisited: Why Most Small Businesses Don't Work and What to Do About It by Michael E. Gerber, which I have translated into Albanian as Miti i sipërmarrjes: Pse falimentojnë kaq shumë ndërmarrje të vogla dhe çfarë të bëjnë për t’ia dalë mbanë (ISBN: 9789951846097) is a phenomenal best-seller, which teaches people how to make their small businesses work for them rather than the other way around. It has been an honor for me to translate this book into Albanian, as I'm sure it will help small business owners live a better life (or at least have a shot at it).

Like I always do in my translations, I added a number of translator's notes to make the reading more accessible to readers who are totally unfamiliar with how businesses work. Along the way, I had to come up with solutions to some of the most pressing translation issues in phonetic languages like Albanian. And, as always, I have ensured that the spotlight is on the author.

To successfully complete this translation, which was applauded by the publisher's proofreader as being "perfectly adapted," I had to rely on my extensive knowledge of business, psychology, and my mastery of several languages, including English (source language) and Albanian (target language). Additionally, I used French and Romanian as references, from which I drew the best solutions and incorporated them into my translation, making it more effective than it would have been otherwise.

Among the various solutions I came up with, I replaced the English names with Albanian equivalents to ensure that Albanian readers would perceive the same sense of age as conveyed in the original English text. For instance, I adapted the name "Elisabeth" (the name of an English queen) as "Teuta" (the name of an Albanian queen). It should be noted that "Teuta" is not a commonly used name among today's Albanian youth, but I chose it to convey the idea of an older woman compared to a name like "Sarah" (adapted as "Sara").

My solutions, which are very unconventional for Albanian translations, increase reader engagement as they perceive the text to be perfectly authentic. They feel as though they are being spoken to by a fellow Albanian business expert, rather than by an American author who lives on the other side of the globe.
