Bio
Born in Lima, Peru, I grew up loving and learning English from a very early age. I guess my
first steps in translation were my rather clumsy attempts at translating my
favourite Beatles songs from English to Spanish when I was about 11 years old. So, it
was inevitable that one day I would become a translator.
Years later, I took up French and got a BA in Translation from English and French into Spanish, lived and worked for a year in the UK and
France and finally moved to Spain, where I have been living since 1991.
Over the years, I have also received training in interpreting and have gained experience as a liaison or consecutive interpreter. My main working areas are tourism, adventure sports, business and international
development, as well as the railway and elevator industries, amongst others. With
a strong personal interest in literature and cinema, I am
currently training to expand my knowledge and skills in literary translation and subtitling.
