I'm an American who grew up in Europe and South America, was schooled in French, and have been fluent in French and Spanish since childhood.

For the past 20 years I have worked as a full-time volunteer managing and coordinating humanitarian and educational-based non-profit projects in Latin America, Africa and Asia. I've done onsite translating and interpreting for non-profit projects, and have extensive experience in coordinating and managing translation projects for non-profits, in nearly a dozen languages, on five continents.

I also have 15 years of experience in business writing, and editing English-language books, publications and periodicals, as well as translation and publishing management and program development.

I'm also a programmer, web developer and system administrator, and have extensive IT knowledge and 10 years of experience developing on a range of hardware/software platforms, as well as in managing software and web development projects.

I do freelance translating as a means of supplementing my income, allowing me to devote as much of my time as possible to non-profit work in developing countries.

I specialize in technical documents, contracts, reports, tenders, etc., and especially in computer and IT related documents and materials, websites, software, documentation. I'm also experienced in translating technical documents such as mechanical, electrical and chemical engineering, telecommunications, etc., as well as related marketing materials, business and financial documents.

I have lived in over 20 countries, and enjoy experiencing new languages and cultures. Over time I have learned to speak, to varying degrees, Portuguese, Russian, German, Italian and Japanese (now learning Chinese).
