Translation - English The subject matter of the present invention is improvements in the prevention and treatment of diseases associated with Helicobacter pylori, in particular peptic ulcers.
It is well known that Helicobacter pylori is a bacteria associated with certain gastro-intestinal diseases, specifically gastritis and peptic ulcers, especially gastric ulcers and duodenal ulcers, and that it is a risk factor for stomach cancer.
International application WO 96/24341 proposed eradication of Helicobacter pylori from dental plaque with a view to improving treatment of peptic ulcers and preventing their recurrence, by means of orally-applied formulations comprising bismuth derivatives. However, these derivatives have a drawback, toxicity, and cannot be administered over a long period of time without drawbacks for patients.
Translation - English Concerning topical application, peptides, even small ones, only penetrate though the outer layers of the skin with difficulty. This is due to their relative water solubility and lack of marked lipophilicity, and their average size, coupled with the varying levels of electric charges present on the molecules.
