Professional practices Judith Shiozawa endorses's Professional Guidelines (v1.1).
I specialize in proofreading texts written in English by international scientists and in the translation of German texts into English. I have a Ph.D. in biology from a well-known American university and therefore, generally accept work dealing with life science topics (biology, biochemistry, biotechnology and some areas of medicine). I can draw on my many years of laboratory experience in basic and applied research when reading or translating manuscripts prepared for publication in research journals. In addition to research manuscripts, I also accept, for example, abstracts, texts for posters, displays and exhibitions, research grant applications, résumés, instructions for laboratory and diagnostic procedures, SOPs, validation test procedures, instructional material and press releases.

I have also translated evidence-based guidelines for the German Diabetes Association including Diagnosis, Treatment and Follow-up of Diabetic Neuropathy, Diagnosis, Treatment and Follow-up of Diabetes mellitus in the Elderly, Prevention and Treatment of Obesity as well as Methodology for the Preparation and Revision of Guidelines from the German Diabetes Association (DDG).
